Project Log:  Saturday, November 23, 2013

By machine and hand as needed, I sanded the finish primer on the pilothouse, coachroof, forward bulwarks, and cockpit coamings with 320 grit paper.  At the edges where I'd masked off the cabin trunk and sidedecks, I removed the tape and masking paper feathered in the paint edges left by the masking; I'd overlap the next rounds of primer.

Afterwards, I cleaned up the worst of the dust, leaving final vacuuming and cleaning till next time.  The contrast of the white primer (which still had plenty of gray in it compared to pure white) against the original gelcoat color still visible on the cabin trunk and decks highlighted just how gray the original surfaces had been.
